Also check around the C in cent for clash marks, I can't tell from the photos

The Die was worked over to remove the clash and this is all that is left. Guessing game at this point..

I can't figure what part of the obverse die is responsible for the clash.

I'm beginning to think it might be a strike-through.
Something external got in the way.

But I agree with the "die polished" part.

John1: I Looked and looked Nothing. I think Lawest's guess is close. IT might be two clashes. Looking at the Thickness of both clashes the one from the E is thicker. Or as Kanga Said Struck-Through LOL I DONT KNOWWWWWWW. OH COOP: where are you ( HELP ) LOL..

I agree with Lawest, a double clash.

I think the polishing marks happened before this clash since some are visible crossing the clash.
The obv. was probably changed out after the clash since there doesn't appear to be any corresponding clash marks on the obv.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Years ago there was an issue with Feeder Finger Damage that is vertical on that area.
1954-S-LWC-Reverse-Intersting-Die-Clash..
But not sure how the die was altered like that.
