1980P Jefferson- missing a section of the bridge of his nose.

Over polished die or something else

There is a bad glare at the point of interest.

Probably polished, that is a low design (high on Die ) point , they often lose that area due to polishing.

That is the result of die polishing, Sometimes called die dressing or die abrasion.
It is probably due to the reworking of the die after a die clash.

Its pretty common.

The real clue of that is the fading die scratches left in the field. Fading means that the die scratches at one time were crisp, but with continued use the scratches in the field flatten/fade in time till they disappear. The damage done to the devices remain flattened.
