I call those a Flying D or Winged D .
Die cracks and breaks are often seen arching from the mintmark to the 9 and this is what you have.

Probably a Pre-Die Chip depression starting on the mintmark.

It's not the same die I agree. OP's mintmark actually looks like it could be a D/D/D ! Sarge, are you able to get a sharp, focused close up of the mintmark? Edited by Chase007

You are correct. They always called this the flying 'D'. So I figured it would be the same die. So there is a copycat out there of this also. An this one is not a RPM, like the 031 is.

Hold up guys, on whoever called it NOT a rpm,lets check out RPM-023 on VarietyVista. I think it's a later die stage with damage...I spoke of this one yesterday to another poster..I have both...Sarge50 please go to that site and check it out (with you having coin in hand)...good luck..2x2 time.. Unless you can match markers on CCs' site,I don't think it is 021. MM placement is wrong. John1 Edited by John1

I agree with you John1 placement of wing is wrong, but the shape of the wing is nearly exact to the 031....could the mint mark just been places lower since they are punched by hand thus putting wing at a different position? I see 3 layers under magnification but just can't get a clearer picture, ugh? Thank you all for your input!
