Does anyone know if it normally takes a while for the PCGS TrueView image to appear online? I ordered GoldShield with my coin and received it almost 2 weeks ago yet it still says "being imaged" under status (also shows shipped and delivered). Is there a delay for the image to appear online? Still shows "no image available"

It's usually a couple days but it all just depends on how backed up they are and they're backed up on everything right now to the point they were working this weekend to try and catch up. They did a software maintenance over the weekend too so not sure how that impacts it. You can email Phil though when it's been a while like this and he'll generally get them up

Thanks, just called in and they said they were uploading images from December 3rd as of Friday, so yes they are a bit behind.

Received my coins back from PCGS this morning. They charged me $90 to slab the 2 COAs that were in the box. Not sure how they can think I wanted them to be slabbed since I never requested this service, also you need to send them in an unopened box. One coin per box. My box had two coins in it and didn't have the paperwork from the mint inside the box. These COAs should not have been eligible for being put into slabs. I am going to request my $90 back for something I didn't order and shouldn't have been eligible to order. On a side note I thought it was only a 15 buck charge to slab a COA, why were these 45 bucks?

Teach- is the COA # in the label as well? Regardless, this deserves a call to get a breakdown of charges.

Yes, I had to sign for the package this morning. I just got off the phone with PCGS CS supervisor and she said we over charged you by $60. Then I explained to her that I didn't want the COAs slabbed and explained to her that they were not even eligible. She then said I would need to send the slabs back to PCGS so they could crack them out and send them send back to me again. I told her I thought that would be a big waste of time, money and resources just to remove a couple of COAs. I asked why can't we just credit my account $90 and be done with it. She said that it is an operational issue and will have to speak with them before a decision can be made. I'm not sending the COAs back to them. If they request them to be shipped back I will just tell them to credit me $60 and be done with PCGS.

Teach, my understanding is that the COA can be slabbed even if you sent an open box, but the COA # will not be on the slabbed Coin. Why did you mail the COA's if you didn't want them slabbed?

Well the COA numbers are on the slabs now. They probably will want me to send those back too so they can remove the numbers from the label. I didn't remove anything from the coins OGP. They stayed in their capsule, in their pretty crush velvet box with the COA that all sits inside the blue box. Does everybody remove all of the OGP before they ship them to PCGS? I figured they would just throw them back in the box after grading. I wasn't trying to trick them or anything. I figured they would know there were two coins in the box making both of them ineligible. I guess I shouldn't assume they are smart enough to figure out the box hadn't already been open.

They should have also looked at the submission form to see that COA encapsulation was not requested, mistake #1. Overcharge - mistake #2. Asking me to spend my time fixing their mistakes - mistake #3.

Someone made a mistake somewhere...it's a new process so maybe they are just not properly trained on it or maybe with the influx of submissions they didn't notice...after all this is a cash cow for them so I am not surprised they didn't care too much, but it does kind of throw off the whole integrity of the "COA associated with a Coin only if sent unopened" thing..

I honestly am very surprised that people have a desire for COA certification given that they are not actually analyzed to determine if they are genuine. Why not certify the blue box, velvet clamshell and clear plastic capsule too?

Got mine back this morning. Interestingly enough the mail man just put it in my mailbox and rang the doorbell. Didn't ask for a Signature. Only thing I may ask NGC about is there is a spec of debris (either it's fuzz or dust on the white holder above the E on liberty (it's inside the case, not above). Rather than mail it back to them to reholder, if they could make a note in my account and just have them reholder it in April when they have a booth at the Central States Numismatic convention in Schaumburg IL. It's not an immediate issue, but I don't want it to eventually fall on the coin and cause issues and just nip it in the bud. Other than that, coin looks great.

I thought one of the main reasons for a grading service is to determine that the coin was genuine. After the grading process there really shouldn't be a need for a COA other than for collecting the OGP.
