Consider taking a soldering gun and placing it contact with the mass that covers the coin. If it melts, then yes it is solder, but if it doesn't melt, then it might be an interior die break as noted by @GC. If it were brazing (which melts at a higher temperature), then I think that we would see some discoloration. It is an unusual shape/location for a die break, so I'm leaning toward this not being a mint error, but like I said, you should be able to confirm one way or another. Nevol Formerly nancyc Australia 5385 Posts	Posted 09/11/2019 9:26 pm The date is covered. I did some comparisons and I think there are 2 possible dates, 1933 & 1943. I ruled 1913 out as the font is quite different. If I had to choose one, I'd go for 1933. life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved Report this Post to the Staff
