Firstly, I know the coin is super rare and valuable. I am super lucky that I acquired it. I have no doubt that it's real, but I know nothing about coins. It isn't graded yet and I'm trying to find the right way to sell it and want more information and opinions on the condition.

You might not have a doubt, but I have many. Looks like a classic fake

It came from an estate of a very wealthy collector. I had two experts tell me they can say with almost certainty it's real.

It was part of a large inheritance collection

The lettering and stars look too thick to me, but I'm no expert. First step would be to get it authenticated and graded.

This is the example heritage sent me of the 16 star version. https://coins.ha.com/itm/early-half.../1251-5642.sI already have auction houses who want to consign it and a private seller who would be interested in buying, but I'm trying to find out the grading (guess I'm a little impatient)

if its authentic I would put in the VG10 range and could be in the $50k+ range.

Agree with a grade of VG-10. to the CCF!

VG 10 the coin could go up or down a grade. I wish you the best on submitting the coin for grading. You may want to consider having a major dealer or Heritage (if Heritage is going auction it) submit the coin for grading to NGC or PCGS that supports the coin being genuine.

Thank you for all the replies. We will certainly get it graded. I've been in contact with heritage and they could assist with the grading process. I'm also talking to some other auction houses and there are some private collectors who are interested in it. I was just really curious what grade this community would give it because I truly have no idea what to look for. I appreciate all the replies!

I just found out it has most likely been holed and plugged so I'm sure that will definitely affect grading as well.
