anthon1984 New Member Italy 31 Posts	Posted 10/19/2019 1:21 pm Good morning from Italy. Maybe mine will be a stupid question and I apologize in advance. I accidentally stumbled across the history of the transitional error of this coin and by checking my collection I have this piece with a strange green patina that looks very similar to those formed in silver coins. The border, however, would seem to devalue the hypothesis of a quarter of a dollar in silver, but the patina that has formed is totally different from that which is usually formed in copper-nickel quarters. Unfortunately, right now I don't have the precision balance that probably would have removed all doubts. Could I kindly ask for your opinion? Many thanks in advance! Report this Post to the Staff

It's impossible to say what has turned the surfaces green, but it's just worth 25¢. Don't worry about asking questions. We love to look at coins of all types.
