We found this penny inside an old pocketbook at our family homestead this past weekend. The error on it shows letters under trust and above Lincolns head. You can also see another faint date above the date on the coin. What type of error is this? Edited by denise28690 10/24/2019 06:23 am

@denise, with this pic, it is hard to see the extra letters or numbers. Can you post a pic that is in sharper focus and less washed out please? Thx.

I have done all of the things you ask me to do. The optimizer allowed for me to upload the photos, but I can not add them to this post.

Make sure each photo has a different name, or it will cancel out the previous one. John1

If you uploaded the photos after you posted this thread, then you need to go to EDIT, in the upper left corner of this post. The go Advanced and add them.
Do not reload new copies, just add them from your photo file in the forum. ( My Previous Uploads )

As a die ages, the tops of the motto letters move towards the rim. So that maybe what you are seeing. If on the bottoms of the TRUST is flat looking, then you might be seeing Machine Doubling. There is also an issue with a carbon spot on the '9' on the date. So it maybe just a Wheat cent coin to keep set aside.
