This should be an interesting discussion. With money taken out of the equation, and you could buy one coin from a famous collection, which would it be and why? Since there are many great collections over the centuries, Brand, Eliasberg, and EHR Green to name a few, take a moment to ponder on the question. One coin, one collection. I'll start this by choosing the 1776 silver 'EG FECIT' Continental Dollar, Newman 3-D, NGC MS63. The two main reasons for my choice are based foremost on history. The first being that Eric P. Newman had amassed perhaps the largest and most complete collection of colonial coinage known. Second, it is rumored that Robert Morris played a part in designing/coining what some argue is the first coin of the United States as a country. On a side note, Morris was responsible for financing the new nation after Independence in 1873. His promissory notes are highly sought after. Can not wait to read your selections. A tough choice indeed. ANA member - PAN Member - BCCS Member There are no problems only solutions - the late, great John Lennon

The 1804 Proof $10 eagle. My favourite design hands down, and one of the most beautiful coins produced, I think it was an Eliasberg coin.

I would pick the 1849 $20 Liberty gold double eagle. Currently in the Smithsonian Collection. Amazing coin with history, rarity and beauty.

The 1808/7 C1 Half Cent sold in the Missouri Cabinet Half Cent collection. Finest known example of this very rare variety.
