Hi Crew, I came this 1943-P War Nickle - SILVER that seems to have some DDO & Machine Doubling. Please help and view the images below.

Serifs are showing DDO, but areas like the right leg of the U show doubling which has diminished the width of the leg. Makes me think (correction from someone welcomed) you have both a legit DDO and some MD.

Some devices on the design do have notching as part of the design: But the normal sized devices with Machine Doubling is all I'm seeing on this coin. Not a DDO.

Oh my, this is crazy and thank you all for the feedback. John I looked for any other attributions but couldn't find any. Coop, thank you much for your feedback, I will look into that as well. Is this worth sending off to get graded?

Quote: Is this worth sending off to get graded? General opinion from threads on this forum are that if a coin is not worth 200.00, then getting it graded is a waste of money. Now if you just like slabbed coins and want one slabbed, then go for it. Its your hobby and your own fun. Just be aware the reality of the situation is that despite marketers wanting (makes sense...its a business) an overall attitude in the hobby that their services are a necessity, slabbing is just an add on option to the coin hobby. It was born as a genius idea of how to make money from coin collectors by tacking on the value of a "professional" opinion to a coin. Yet the same coin broken out of one company's slab and resubmitted to the very same company is not even guaranteed the same grade again. Its all a very subjective system. If you want to sell to make a profit (and have a coin valued over 200.00), then people in auctions will pay more for one in plastic. And nowadays even more money is being taken in because the mob mentality is moving towards "needing" a CAC sticker to show an "expert" opinion about the already "expertly graded" and slabbed coins. Marketing, marketing, marketing.... When I got serious about the hobby years ago now I personally had some pieces slabbed so that if anything happens to me, my family will figure the coins in plastic are worth more than just dumping at the bank. Although now I look back at that action from years ago as a waste of my money, it was a good learning experience.
