Its resembles md the D looks reduced not thicker. I'm no coin dealer but from what I been taught from posting similar images on ccf its resembles md.

Sorry, It's md, not 008, Draw a straight line extending the vertical bar of the D and you'll see your mint mark is not in the same location,looks like yours is more to the west

Also not the top of the '9' is showing device alteration (MD) on the top of that device in the same direction. Not a RPM. As mentioned, it is reduced. Also the 008 mintmark location is further south:
