Looks more like a Die Chip then a Double ear to me. Could be a start of one but for sure NOT a DDO-001.

On the date and mintmark areas, the die is wearing and showing Die Deterioration. I can see it on the right sides of the devices on the date area. Other areas affected will be on the left on Liberty and tops on the motto. Interesting point of this Die Deterioration is that it affects the fields and not the devices. Beginning start of die wear on the single squeeze die coin examples.

Looks good, but can you match the forehead die crack? Yours is late enough die state that it should be visible. Guess I'm asking as I'm not sure there is only one doubled ear for this year. Time will tell as this is a new thing with the "D" series doubled ears, but I've seen a few really minor bits behind the ear and while DDO-001 is certainly worth a listing I am worried that we are calling them all DDO-001 when there could be more dies involved.

Yea, TB the crack on Abe's forehead is weak on this one but is visible, must be a late stage. I have one I found about a month ago and the crack is much more visible. The spot of the DD is exact on both coins. My camera is not that good but I will try to get it set up again maybe do some side by side pictures of the two coins. DE everyone is entitled to their opinion, even when it is wrong! Just kidding, that is what this forum is for.

Interesting you would say I am wrong. See the metal flow sluffing from the ear and pushing in to the field making a little bump its called DIE FLOW and your coin is showing it behind the ear. Can you get a BETTER/CLOSER Picture Of this so called DDO-001 Ear?

Pictures aren't the best, but it does look similar to DDO-001.

I am confused. Look at the last picture and look close and tell me you DONT see Die flow sluffing off the ear and just a bump in the field.Looks NOTHING like the DDO-001. I don't even think it would class as a DDO.....

I don't think these photos are good enough to make any definite conclusions.

It could have a doubled die and Die Deterioration, it's not mutually exclusive.
