Your money - your choice not ours. However, my 5 cents would be the nickel do the walkers next month.

I have completed a circulated set of each series.
EITHER...are beautiful coins in circulated and UNC grades.
BOTH series are, in my MOST humble opinion, two of the toughest series to grade. There are multiple dates and mintmarks that are treated differently than all other dates/mm in the series. Yes, multiple grading criteria within each series.
Work on both. Seems when trying to working on completing a series, there seems to be luck in finding lots of examples to peruse and sometimes very little to none.

Quote: @CoinCollector2012 That is a VERY impressive WLH. Full set of dress lines. Thumb easily separate on the hand. Not a particular easy coin for that year. Thanks for the comment! I'm currently putting a short set of these together in MS-66. When you get in choice, high grades, the Walkers are stunning to look at! OP, to make your decision a little easier, here's a lightly toned piece in OGH

And, in defense of collecting SLQ... we collect not because it's easy, we collect because it's because it is hard. I can remember when I first got into collecting coins about 30-some years ago, I started with Mercury Head dimes. I bought rolls of Mercs at a little above face, and at that time, most were BU examples. They were so beautiful, I kept as many as I could. I was able to get most of the 30s and all of the 40's in FSB, but the earlier dates eluded me, I have never been one to simply buy coins, 1. because I can't, and 2. its about the hunt, not the purchase. Everyone has a different philosophy, your mileage may vary. Collect what you like best. I can tell you one thing for certain: all these early 20th Century coins 50 years from now, will cost you a lot more than they'll cost you today.

Ha!! I'll give a hint The coin has an animal on the reverse :) @merclover.. I agree with you, I collect what I like :) I'm tempted to start collecting the Sack a chewy dollars (like my friend calls them), I know they are modern but I like them :) I love the Mercury dimes. I think they are pretty coins. But so is the "Lady with flowing dress" and the "native America with bison" coin. Both are beautiful coins to make it harder I got samples of both, but some one sent me 2 coins which pushed my decision to one and not the other (we'll at the beginning :) )

Oh well, I was going to post on Tuesday. But the USPS came 2 full days early and on Sunday? So while I was really tempted to get the Native American with a Bison 5 cent coin, some one on here made a trade with me which changed my mind... Ok so I went for..... The pretty lady strolling at sunrise as my new collection!! Still missing a lot and I'm going for a circulated collection.

I had enough saved up to get the Mercury dime 16-D which would have let me complete my Mercury dime collection, but due to fortunate circustances involving a limited edition coin(s) on the US mint side, I no longer have enough to get the 16-D but as I had time to kill for lunch I made my biweekly trip to the local coin shop. As I now longer had a large stash (well I have a small stash but that is earmarked for the 16-D) I still wanted something. And as Coin Collector's picture really was giving me the I wanted something shiny. So I picked up a new "pretty lady walking" coin in AU 58 (the 1944-D is the one, the others I already had)

Glad to see you picked the Walkers! IMO, they're one of the few coins that looks great even when heavily circulated. Congrats on you AU example and be sure to keep us updated on your progress
