I referenced VV

same mintmark position with same southeast running die scratches on the bottom of the 1.

Your 4th photo does show the raised mark under the center curve of the S, however to my eyes your mint mark looks to be slightly more east of the one shown on Varietyvista. Lets see if someone can triangulate and compare the two...good luck

I agree with the mint mark position NOT being correct for 003.

It does not look like an RPM, center of the S is reflecting some of the numerous die scratches of the coin like those in the field between the 1 and 9 of date.

All the activity in the lower loop is not the RPM. It is a tilted RPM. I'm not seeing a tilted on Variety Vista's coin either. No listing on coppercoins or Wexler that matches this die. On the Variety vista image is on the center upper loop, it looks like a distortion of the 'S' line that doesn't match up.

Thanks for the opinions. I am still confused though. The VV RPM-003 is described as a "S/S Tilted". So are tilted MM's the same as RPM's?

I agree that this MM is slightly east of the VV example.

The S on my coin took a hit in the middle to upper loop and it seems possible if it wasn't for that it would look identical to the S on VV RPM-003.

S/S tilted means the mint mark on the bottom (first one struck on the die) is tilted or lets say rotated slightly as compared to the top one. Check out VarietyVista for the 1960D RPM-001, that one shows "explains" the positioning of a West rpm as compared to a tilted. Hope this helped you out....good luck
