That is a weird pattern of damage, I wonder if this was used to even out the legs on a chair.

As Mentioned Bbwgirlly1982, the obverse is just a vise job or glue so yes, there's some kind of letters, backwards ones to be exact, that's what gives away the diagnoses. I don't understand why you asked for more pictures, it's clear in the original post, the OP even specifically mentioned it. Additional pictures are just a waste of space.

Probably a 'C' clamp was used on it. Applied several times on the reverse altering the obverse. Spendable. PSD

Exactly what it looks like coop, didn't think of that. The disk always moves as you tighten it on something.
