Hi all,

Can I get some feedback on the below Mercury dime? Do you like it? Don't worry about the price, thats not what I can get it for.

I've had a few trusted collectors look at it and they gave good feedback, but wanted more before I make the decision.

It's not a coin I would buy. The eye appeal just isn't there. It's not a bad coin at all, it's just not a coin for me.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Honestly I agree with you. For the cost, I'm disappointed in the eye appeal. I may skip, or get an unslabbed one for less.

I too don't really like that coin's appearance but it might be the slab. Really difficult to tell a coins condition if the plastic slab is poor.

Looking at these enlarged pics, which I had not seen before, I must agree.

Lots of fake ones out there. I would go with this one before trying a raw one.

This coin should be in a details holder - cleaned.

The dark splotchy flat surfaces, dark areas by the various devices, and polished. This is a "conserved" coin that made it's way to a straight grade holder.

Run from this coin.

For the right price, I'd have no problem buying that coin. If you would let us know what the price is, that would make all the difference on buy/pass for me. NGC is a good technical grader. So, really hard to give a good opinion, if I don't know what it costs.

certification number is good coin books at 625 I'm with edweather tho if the price is right and you are happy with it is what matters a nice coin that would fit in well with the rest of your Mercury dime collection I think.
Rest in Peace

I have to agree with Acloco , A conserved coin that's made it's way into a straight holder .

The price I was offered is $500 cash. I think the price is good but it doesn't have good eye appeal. I can get an unslabbed one from a dealer I trust for $425 but that one is vf not XF. I may pass and get something else, still on the fence. The slabbing doesn't sway me either way, but eye appeal is important to me.
