I have been noticing some different coins, some have the bigger D for Denver which is standard but these have a smaller D. Also these coins I'm finding seem softer than most, with me being able to take off the lettering with only a regular key. This is an older one but I have some with more recent dates. This one has no mint mark and is considerably thicker and heavier than any of my other pennies. Also I did a bite test and my teeth sunk in pretty good. Also for the thickness of this penny, it is bent.

Can you post pics of what you are referencing? Also, the dates of the coins may have something to do with how big the mintmark is.

@RB, first welcome to CCF. Second, it seems like you are performing some destructive tests on these coins. Consider not doing that but rather posting pics of them here. Perhaps we can help you avoid destroying the value of these coins?

Zinc from coins is not a healthy thing to eat. The mintmarks change at different times.

If indeed you felt something was different or special about your coin, WHY would you deliberately scratch off the mint mark ? Then Bite the coin ? I think if I were you, I'd stop biting zinc coins. JMHO,
