I believe this is a 1951 S LMC on a Dime

It weighs exactly 2.58 grams

Edit: Thought it said 1955 not 1951

this looks like it is all copper so I don't think it was struck on a dime planchet. The obverse looks like environmental damage resulting in loss of weight. I could be wrong about the obverse but I'm pretty certain it is not on a dime planchet.

It looks like a "Soda-Pop" cent. The diameter and thickness have been reduced, most likely acid dipped, so it could be used in a vending machine as a dime. Coop has a set of images and a better explanation so let's see if he happens upon this post.
