@coinundrum, it isn't clear from your post what sort of answer or response you are looking for. Do you suspect a mint error, are you looking for an estimate of the grade, or are you just showing us a cool coin from your collection?

The Peace dollars are one of my favorite. If you purchased the whole set of 1921 to 1935 you are looking at a $700+ (+) depends on the condition. If they are all MS the value could be $1000+, the most valuable are the 1921, 1928 and the 1934 and 1935 (S) mint . Either way the Peace dollars spanned the the US from time of immense prosperity of the roaring 20's to the lowest points of the Great Depression. The history in the those coins are incredible. Treasure the Peace dollars. I have a full set.

It's value can still be $700*. The 1928 and 1921 are worth around $300 just for those 2. Then 20 coins at even $17 you are looking at $340. And the 1934 and 1935 (s) are worth $50-$100 each. I can't tell from the pictures if the coins are cleaned but $700 value is a good starting point. It's still a nice set.
If there is a 1964 in the set don't tell anyone and don't try to sell it. Just save it as it's worth millions but it's illegal to own one. But man I would love one :)

to the CCF Having collected coins for over sixty years now, I've yet to purchase a pair of gloves to handle them. I am careful to hold them by the edge though. It appears to me that the 1921 has been scrubbed by a previous owner. Note the abrasive hairline scratches on both sides. One of the pitfalls in buying full or partial sets is that damaged or even counterfeit/altered coins are often contained therein. For example, in the Peace dollar series, watch out for removed mintmarks; especially so, on the 1928. Some years ago, I was visiting with a flea market coin dealer from whom I'd purchased a few coins over the years. While there, a guy came into his booth, wanting to sell an album of thirty or so mixed, Morgan & Peace dollars. The guy wanted $1,500 for the lot. The dealer asked me to look at it and offer my opinion. But for a few Morgans, most were mid-grade and genuine coins. One that stood out was an 1889-CC in XF condition. It was an underweight Chinese counterfeit, as were a few other Morgans. These were combined with genuine coins to entice a would-be buyer. When confronted with the observation that there were some counterfeits in the album, the seller shrugged his shoulders; likely, playing dumb. The dealer thanked me, as he hadn't noticed and was considering a purchase based largely on that "coin." He hadn't removed it from the album as I did.

It is always best to start a new thread with each new coin. This helps us down the road when we are searching for a specific coin. Thx for asking!
