Other than a funky C in CENTS, I don't know why it is a fake. I don't even know if the C is supposed to look like that because I have no knowledge of Large cents and Half Cents. So what is the red flag here? Thanks It certainly isn't worth near that much money real or not. It is not even uncirculated in my opinion. Looks AU to me.

Obverse is off in general, but casting bumps on the headband by liberty were a giveaway for me.

I'll go with my standard response to a listing like that. I won't pay that much for any coin that isn't slabbed, preferably by NGC or PCGS.

Actually most of the reverse looks off to me . The word CENT is not centered between wreath , and the Bow on bottom is different .

The reverse is very "funky." (that's a technical term )

The C certainly looks uncomfortable in there. The color doesn't look natural either.

All valid points and why I put it here. I shot a PM to nss so we'll see if it stays up. It's not an impressive fake to be sure.

I think it is real. The surfaces are porous, it has been badly cleaned (likely with an acidic product) and retoned (badly), it is not uncirculated. Overall worth maybe $20 to $25.

This was my thought as well, possibly some minor corrosion or environmental damage, then cleaned and artificially colored.
