I found this penny in my change several years ago and decided to see what I have here. The reverse is as it should be but the obverse is totally blank and cupped as well as a partly rusted silvery metal. The penny is very light weight, it looks like the zinc core and copper plated obverse just fell out of this penny. I'm not a coin collector so don't know if this is a mint error or someone was trying to make some kind of trick coin? I did some research and couldn't find anything like this online.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks, also my first post by the way.

You have a damaged cent. Looks like someone was making a magician coin out of the cent. Just put a dime in the rear of the coin and then you have a cent dime combo to surprise your audience. Put it in you hand and flip it over its a dime or its a cent or if it falls out its a dime and a cent. Tadum!

Magicians coin. Keep it, it's a great conversation piece, but no real monetary value as it's not a mint error but post mint damage by someone trying to modify it.

First welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that you have one half of a Magician's coin.
