I got this Morgan as a gift this past week and was wondering what you guys would think a fair grade would be.

I'd say a 64 a couple dings short of a 65

Interesting die damage in field on the 'AMERICA' side, next to eagle's wing, rim bump over the 'C'. (rev.) Reasonably sharp reverse strike. Nice satin fields, both sides.
Enough minor dings to keep it to MS-63, but I would not be surprised it it has been graded at MS-64.

I'll say solid 64, shot 65. Tell us about the luster.

Coinfrog- The luster is bright and full, and the coin looks really great because of it since the fields are mostly clear. I can see now though that that didn't really register in the pictures. Probably has something to do with my poor camera skills.

AVG+ strike for an 85(O) which is not completely uncommon. nice reverse, small clash to the right of the right eagle wing. based on the photos some dullness in the luster around the chin and neck. MS64

Obverse MS-63, reverse MS-64, net grade MS-63. Definitely a nice gift. It has good eye appeal for a 63.
