Beautiful, the last year of the Standing Liberty quarters - a magnificient design

1930 has nowhere near the level of delights for me.

My best piece and it hasn't even arrived yet, I bought and paid for it but its delivery has been delayed due to Coronavirus restrictions (Postage of non essential items is banned until we leave Level 4 - sadly obselete silver coins are not "essential")

All I have is this seller's photo - a 1930 UK Halfcrown.

A scarce but not rare date, 1930 is a much harder date to get than most of the 1920 - 1946 series (Only 1925 is harder).

Just 890k were issued compared to 11 and 12 million in 1929 and 1931. This coin is gFine and not too bad. It cost me 3 times as much as the 31 and 32.

1929 to 1931 are very sparse years for me (1927/28 are not however) and I have this Penny/Halfpenny combo.

It sums up what NumisRob said yesterday - Pennies are easier to get in better condition and KGV Halfpennies mostly come across as worn.

The Penny is Fine to gFine and the Halfpenny is barely VG.

Like the halfcrown, the 1930 shilling is a scarcer year (mintage 3,317,000). My 1930 sixpence and shilling were both retrieved from circulation when I was a kid. Sixpences circulated until 1980 and shillings until 1990, although pre-1947 silver was hard to find after the mid-1970s.
