I had two 1964 D pointed 9 Roosevelt dimes and was given a third by one of my sons giving me three. I've always wanted to see two coins that are almost exactly alike and with this dime, I finally have. Everything from the slight die gouge over the 6 in the date, the three die polish lines at the upper lip and for me more importantly the MD on the mintmark. There are so many other things that are exact as far as die polish lines I only picked three things. It also helps that they are in MS state otherwise I may never seen two virtually identical coins let alone two that are 56 years old.

Thanks, John1. Look in the center of the mintmark and you'll see the same mark.

There is MD on the both mintmarks.
A die clash on the lips area.

The bottoms of the MM's is what looks different to me.

I would say the second coin was stamped later than the first, allowing the die to wiggle loose a little more to make the gap of the MD greater. Also do I see a small die chip above the band on the torch of the second one?........pretty neat
