I finally found a reasonable example of the old Classic Head Large Cent for my U.S. Type Set, the 1811 S-287 variety:

That is a NICE 1811. The Classic head normally come pretty retched and the odd dates 09, 11, and 13 even worse. An 11 with those decent surfaces, and it looks like the color is pretty good too, is a real prize.

Did you get a good price, or did you have to pay well over 'market values'? I'll consider going to a coin show to look for some coins so I can fill some holes.

Your not going to get nice Classic heads at "Market".

Aren't those prices supposed to be for a problem free, nice coin? I see certified examples going for less than 'market' on heritage quite often.

I agree, its hard to find a nice Classic Head LC in nice condition and when you do find one you will have to pay for it.
I have a low grade filler in my 7070 that I only paid $10 for and I'm pretty sure I can get at least that back out of it when I decide to upgrade.
