Hello Everyone. Finally got a USB microscope and can take pics a lot easier now. I'm 99% sure this is just damage but unsure what the cause of it would be. 1% wishful thinking its a strike through haha. Either way I think its neat looking and plan on keeping it. The weight is in line with what it should be of 3.04 grams.

I'm with you that it is damage. I'm thinking that the front is also somewhat damaged.

Also, glad to see your improved photography!

I'm thinking it was used to replace a blown fuse of/in an older homes fuse box..they had screw in type fuses unlike the switch breakers we now have in newer homes

Nice... what does the front look like ? If it's not damaged then it was not used for electric conduction in my opinion experience

not exactly sure what the damage is, but the fuse box theory Greasy suggested fits perfectly! Definitely PMD.

Is the obverse normal or does it show any deformation as well? Thanks, Doug.

I like the theory however there would need to be a contact point on the front of the coin or electric transfer is not possible just saying
