Hi I'm a new collector and am eager to exchange ideas, thoughts, and questions with other numismatists and collectors.

I got into collecting as a hobby with my girlfriend. She mostly collects Lincoln cents. My approach is more random and chaotic, although I am highly organized. I collect US business strike coins in all denominations OTHER than one cent minted after the civil war up through current years.

I am not focused on set collections nor only in silver. I buy or otherwise procure anything I happen to like. Factors that play in to this include:
Condition
Year
Age in general
Metallurgical properties
Scarcity
Historical/cultural significance

One or more of these affect my decisions to keep coins

Right now my collection is small but includes several silver Washington quarters, 2 Ike dollars, 3 Kennedy half dollars (1 silver), one Franklin and one Walking Liberty half dollar (respectively), 3 Buffalo nickels, 3 Liberty V nickels, a 1942 War Nickel, 3 silver Roosevelt dimes, and a dozen or so miscellaneous coins.

Please respond or message me with questions or personal introduction of your ow. I am here to make acquaintances and communicate!

i only buy things that I truly like and I truly know will increase in value.

like 1/10 oz to 1/4 oz pure gold, I buy mine graded 70 in slabs so I can prove the grade and genuine.

now I aim to buy only 1/4 oz 9999 gold as the size is needed to sell that artwork as perfection, for older people 1/10 oz is to small for eye appeal of the coin.

If your on a super tight budget then maybe banknotes a graded banknote in grade 67 can be delivered for around 40$ usa.

i never buy silver coins are they tarnish and will develop milk spots over time.

just my to cents worth , oh and the mega Red Book of coins :)
