While looking really really close it is evident that something struck there however the VDB is not visible I estimate the coin to be in mint state 55 ish but I have not had the coin and looked at by anyone else. Any thoughts or opinions or knowledge that I seem to be missing is greatly appreciated.

The photo's show very little if any. Re-focus and take new ones. We cannot see what you see. Use arrows and pointers to clarify please.

This is about as close as I can get it and that's really good considering the
phone that I'm using to take these pictures

Probably just due to die-polishing, or perhaps a grease-fill, not a big deal.

Why does it come off with polishing? Because on the die, it is raised to make it incuse on the coin. So when a lot of polishing happens, these devices are removed from the die. (removed on the die, makes it missing on the coins struck with that die) No premium for this. It is a die event, not a die variety.
