I was thinking about sending in a bunch of coin for grading In witch I have never done. My question Is about this 1989 D DDO and some other DDO / DDR. If it is a Die variety will it get a lesser grade then just MS Coin for a straight grade. Thanks.

Are you sure that's a DDO? Die variety has nothing to do with grade. I think you have to request a die variety be put on the label and pay extra for it.

looks like WDDO-001, I'm not sure if grading it would be beneficial at all though but I could be wrong. IMHO

Grading is for high grade coins (MS-67-70) Coins that have a high value. I just can see sending in a coin maybe worth $10 (not saying this one is worth that much) and have to spend up to $50 to have it graded. As a buyer I pay nothing extra for a graded coin. Just what the trends would be. The seller in the one that looses on this grading process. Remember what I always say:

The fact that it's a die variety will have no impact on the coin's grade.

However, asking to have the die variety attributed (put on the slab) will cost an extra amount ($18 I think). If you ask and it's not that variety you don't get your money back.

Also, they don't attribute every die variety and error. There's a specific list of errors and varieties they'll attribute and if you're request isn't on that list you're out of luck.

I've been burned so many times by sending out coins without researching.
I've learned my lesson....If you can find one better on PCGS than the one you've got, save your money. Its not worth it.
Just my opinion...

Thanks H3HK: For answering my question. I was only wanting to know if there is a difference in grading a variety or a MS grade due to the error or variety if a variety would get a lesser grade due to an error.I know not to send most coins in until there is a bulk sale going on with a grading company. I am not going to grade a coin for 60 bucks and only sell it for 10 bucks lol nope not me I like my money lol....

ANACS is the only service that will attribute all varieties and they are around $8-10 extra on top of the grading fee. I like their slabs better because you can see the variety on the top curve of the slab without having to remove the slab from the box.
If you catch them at a show, they are very helpful with submitting. Organizing, labeling and no shipping cost to ship to them. You should be able to see their show schedule online.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
