Gincoin your probably right. It wasn't reeding after putting it under the microscope,probably just a just a coin that needs to be in the garbage

So, why five postings? This coin was minted at a mint, but there's no error coin here. Environmental damage post mint. A waste of time.

My eyes were seeing things that appearently vanished the 2nd time around. There is writing on the edge or letters but the main part that got me was just to the east of Lincolns face theres 2 lines of metel that connect. I basically thought it was double struck

Looks like a cent I found on a Maryland roadside (in loose dirt) many years ago. Appeared to have suffered through a few years of temperature extremes, rough winters, road salt/deicing, etc. And this location in Maryland wasn't too far inland from the shores of the Atlantic.
