Very good photos though. Just a bit too much glare and looks to be just a bit out of focus. What is your set up? John1

That is the least amount of lighting I can have without the pictures being completely dark. And I use a microscope that is attached to my cell phone

unfortunately your tutorial wasnt anything I havent already read. but thanks..my problem is that when I have something that looks identical to something wexler has, you guys say its die det. I'm an artist I draw life like portraits of people I was also an i.e.d. hunter in iraq. I have one heck of an eye for detail and noticing slight differences between like objects. yet you guys leave me scratching my darn head

The DDR's on the States quarters and the ATB Quarters are more in the centers of the design. Earlobe and central area of the reverse design. For these locations you need to check doubleddie.com to review where to look for the locations of the doubled dies. On the reverses of the ATB Quarters, the devices are incuse in the outer ring. These show Machine Doubling 70% of the time. People think they are doubled dies, but they are not. I've yet to see a legit DDT on these ATB incuse devices on the outside ring of the reverses. So researching where to look for doubled dies on these two series will save you a lot of time searching in areas where doubled dies are not found. The more you look at the site, the more it will help you to know where to look for these.

Wexler describes it as "Doubling shows as extra, heavy, mild, light thickness" on this or that for many coins. thats what I was going by on that virginia coin judging by the year 2000 & the heavy extra thickness it had compared to other like examples

Jsertl, I think you are going to need to put a filter over the lights. I have two scopes and I had to block off all but one light at the 12k position and put a white filter on that bulb. Sometimes I turn off the onboard lights and use a hand held LED flashlight that I also have a filter on. John1
