Weird-Rippling-Affect-On-Reverse-What-Caused-It
Weird-Rippling-Affect-On-Reverse-What-Caused-Itfirst is this a doubled die and second what causes this rippling affect and can whatever caused this rippling create even a more drastic version of the rippling spreading it throughout the coin and on both sides? Thanks for looking

I would like to see full obverse and reverse pictures of your coin please. Might be acid damage possibly.

I looked up the link to die determination below and I dont see any wavy flow lines in the images supplied the coins dont even resemble each other, these are the type of things that dont make sense to me I asked what created this wavy effect and I get a response then I look at the supplied images and see no likeness and I feel my question hasn't really been answered which makes trying to learn something difficult when you're looking at something other than what you're inquiring about ,so what causes this rippling effect and can it actually end up covering both sides of the coin ,is it a die thing or metal thing thanks again to all participants

Looks like severe die erosion to me.

As the die comes down on a coin, pressure on the die is increased in an outwardly direction.

This increased pressure cause the die to deteriorate faster on the outer edges of the coin and also on the lower/flatter areas of the coin than on the center or the high spots.

The die is literally distorting because of the tens of thousands of strikes against the hard metal coins it has to undergo and the type of distortion can vary, but wavy lines like what appears on this coin are one of the signs of a very late die state (VLDS). It can appear on both sides of a coin if the two dies are both in need of being changed (VLDS).

Try searching the forums for Very Late Die State or Flow Lines to see some of the different examples.

Or at least that's what I've read.
