Possible new designs from 2018. I stumbled across these online and found them to be quite striking, too bad they will not be the real thing, I like them, what say the rest of you?

Here is a page with all of them in a gallery mode of scans by the artist/designer Andrey Avgust of Belarus.

From the design perspective, I like them. Some interesting choices to swap out the people on the 10 and 20 (what about the 2?) and I'd rather they phase out real people altogether but that's not the point of this presentation.

My favorite part is the UV security features and the 3D reverse look. I also think JFK is a good choice to be on some Paper, er Polymer money. As a design challenge they are very well done, though I'm not sure I'd want our money to be so "dark" themed, maybe more of a green (normal) tint instead of the dark tints.

I'm old school and prefer the look and feel of what we are currently using with a traditional security paper. I'm guessing World note collectors will like this colorful design.

I think these notes are beautiful and cool looking, but if they ever did issue them, that first year would launch a feeding frenzy of hoarding the new first issued major change in our currencies.

I wonder what the lifespan would be, does it increase, thereby reduce manufacturing costs because their replacing them less often?

It also seems these would be sturdy and less susceptible to tears. I've traveled, vacationed, or lived in dozens of Country's, and while finding U. S. Money great for using and exchanging abroad, I did have some trouble exchanging worn notes or notes with a slight tear. Some exchange houses wouldn't accept them, these notes might fix that.

However, in the end, I agree with SteveInTampa, I prefer the look and feel of our current notes.

It would change the grading field too. Don't like that thought.

I also like how there is history and meaning to every bit of the design details of our current currency, these new notes have lost most of that and is replaced with "Bling"

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Keep it Green!

Very interesting.

I know you old school types are hesitant to change, but would these not make the old rags more valuable?

Very colorful, nice designs. Shows what a little creativity can come up with.

Too bad they will never happen.

I like the designs. The US mint artists (and the BEP) could take lessons from this artist from Belarus.

I know the polymer has been proven to last longer. A downside to the using polymer (at the start only?) Canada started by issuing larger denomination bills in ploymer and working their way down to the 5.00 bill. When the initial 50s and hundreds were issued, there were many reports of polymer bills melting in high heat (forgotten in a pants pocket and tumbled dry or left in a car during summer). This was 2012. I think (have not looked into it) that Canada has come up with a better polymer formula now though.

Admittedly the bills feel like something cheap in hand. But mabe that;s b/c we are so used to handling paper and or most things made of thin plastic are recyclables like food wrappers, 2 liter (or 2 litre in this case ) bottle labels etc.?
