Hello everyone, my name is Liz and I am brand new to this forum...which I absolutely love by the way. I am a new coin collector/coin seller and I have so many random questions to ask. I think I will just slowly ask questions if that's all alright with everyone of course. My first question is about an Uncirculated 50 $5.00 coin roll of 1962 Roosevelt dimes. I have been selling entire rolls of pre 1964 silver dimes like crazy on ebay but this is the first roll of it's kind that I have come across. It seems that every dime in the roll has an off toning color on them, some being almost covered and others just slightly discolored. From what little experience I have in the coin department, I have noticed that collectors love coins with toning to them but my dimes color is not very attractive which brings me to wonder if they are, in fact worth, more because of their strange color. I would appreciate greatly if someone could help me out with this question. I plan on posting these dimes to ebay tomorrow so I wanted to make sure I know what I am talking about when it comes to this unique roll. Thank you in advance.

to CCF. As yo said they are not very attractive, and I personally agree. I do not see these as selling for a premium because of the toning. John1

I don't see a major problem with the toning of these coins from what I can see . On e-bay post pics of an empty tube amongst these Dimes spread out both sides . State in you listing a super roll of toned 1962-P Roosevelt dimes .

Just take multiple clear representative photos of them, and someone might give you a slight premium if there are a few that look especially attractive.

The value of these dimes will be determined by the marketplace--in this case, ebay. Judging from what I've witnessed on ebay over many years, there WILL be some bidders/buyers who WILL pay a bit more for dimes with the toning shown in the photo. People who are turned off by toning will not be interested. Those who are drawn to toning, will be.

Toning looks nice from what I can see. I would pay a dollar or two more for a good looking toner!

Thanks everyone for all your input and your extremely helpful expertise. I can not tell you all how happy I am to have found you and how grateful I am for the chance to be apart of your special community. How cool is this Anyway, after checking up on this post, I realized how blurry my pics came out and how you really cant see the toning on the dimes that well. I am going to try again and see what you all think this time... Again, thank you all soooooooo much for your help and support.

Much better photo. The toning looks kinda nice on that one on the left, but toning is personal kind of thing also. Some like it some do not. I guess you could pick out the best looking one to you, and post it on ebay and "test the waters" John1
