I never got into collecting these. Why? Because these are die events. They do this these, but consider. How many times do the same dies get listed over and over because it went from one die chip to two. Then it gets a large die chip into a die break issue. The same die could get listed several times as the die continues to break down. (which the 1950's cent dies were way over used) I like die varieties , not a fan of the die events. It would be like looking on my face for a new wrinkle that could appear in the mirror each day. But I'm still the same person. (I guess you are really in trouble when you look into a mirror and say: "Dang! They gave me a new room mate without telling me!"

I'm mostly into die varieties on the Lincoln cents and other coins in the post 1908 era. It is just that I'm not a collector of die events. Die varieties are a variety from coin one till it is retired. It is something specif about a die that was created with the die variety on it. A die event, is something happened to the die during it life and it was a normal die. Different events happen on to the dies in use. Different than a die variety. But die events also happen to variety coins also. But we use these die events as markers for the die variety to help confirm they are a match and also to determine die states or stages as some sites list them.
