Looks like purposeful flattening to me. Is this cent the correct diameter?

I'm thinking this was altered like a Texas Cent, but not squeezed at tightly. Placed between two pieces of leather and squeezed in a vise. Not a mint error. Just an altered coin. PSD.

Ok fair push-back. I suppose there isn't a good way to definitively say one method of damage over the other. In the end, this coin is a spender though--on that we all agree.

I don't have a vise to create one of these. If I did, then we would know for sure what happened. We see this often on coins. On the plated ones, they stretch and the plating falls off. On the copper coins, they don't peel as they are not plated.
