So, I snagged a very nice Barber half for my Whitman type set. Its the last coin I need to receive to have the whole thing be XF and higher. I ordered it from Daves Collectable coins and paid for priority. That part went well. Daves has ALWAYS been a reliable seller IME. The snafu is with USPS. Now, let me stress something here. I have shipped hundreds of packages over the years between selling stuff and former jobs. I have had almost zero issues with an item. And certainly none like this. I will let the screen captures tell the story...    There is one last entry on the 21st at 2320 it left the facility in San Fran AGAIN. Honestly, I have never seen something like this. It would be amusing if it didnt involve a 140.00 coin. |

You are fortunate not to have experienced stuff like this before. I have had a lot more of this in the past 5 years than ever before. I never even used to think about having people sign to verify something I sent got there, but now if it has any value whatsoever, it gets a signature. Whatever you do, if you do not get this in the mail, be as (nicely) relentless as you can making sure you contact them and to make things correct.
I went through this last year after sending a good coin to a friend. Suffice it to say you need to make sure you have a limited time with which to try to get them to make things right. For us it SEEMED, by their continued "we are still looking" they were pushing until we hit that deadline. Going up the hierarchy got results.

You are not alone with these problems with USPS . A lot of people that I talk to are having all kinds of issues with them . And to make things worse ,their shipping charges are getting ridiculous . It's going to eventually kill our hobby .  |

My last 5 orders have had nothing but trouble. First 2 orders got to my local USPS and where out for Delivery for 3 days. I finally opened a case on the 3rd day and they came in.
My last 2 orders got marked delivered and went to the wrong place, the USPS one was in the back of a delivery truck and the FEDEX one went to a completely different address and stayed outside in a 2" rainfall. My last item never even got shipped. I kept calling and the place said I'll get it the next day, this went on for 4 days before they told me it was never shipped. Its crazy. In hundreds of orders last 5 were terrible.

But to show you how weird this is, Tbop sent me a 2020 LSC and I got it in 3 days. |

Mid-lastyear I had one package from Europe that got delayed somewhere for a couple of weeks (so it arrived in 3 wks+ rather than 7-10 days), and I recently had a package hang up at a local distribution center for a couple of days before moving along. Neither was a real horror story. I've also had packages arrive from Europe in under a week. So, I also like to give credit where it's due. |

It appears now that it has possibly broken out of San Fran. Status is en route to next destination. We shall see.

Nope. Still bouncing around in San Fran. I am on hold with the USPS right now.

Something tells me the something damaged the delivery address and they are making guesses as to which zipcode (post office) it is supposed to go to. Although I have to admit those listing for March 19th are interesting. Arrived at the post office in San Francisco at 2AM, and out for delivery in Wayneboro Pennsylvania just 5 hours later, and then back in San Francisco 8 hours later. All the way across the country, try to deliver it and bring it all the way back across the country in just 13 hrs.

Conder, exactly. The lady at USPS said the address on the package was indeed San Fran, that it must have been labeled wrong. But when I pointed out what you noticed, and that that means the system HAS to have my correct address for that package for that to happen, she agreed and had no clue what was going on.
I contacted the seller and told him he needed to call them. Its been bouncing back and forth for 6 days now. You would think they would have sent back to him by now.

I strongly dislike USPS. Happens to me all the time. I've been waiting for my replacement windcups for my anemometer for two weeks even though I was "guaranteed" delivery in four days. Same thing happened with snow chains for my truck. If only Napa had some left over...

We have a name for USPS at work. It's an acronym as well but it doesn't mean United States Postal Service, and I sure as heck cant say it here. But use your imagination

Dont get me wrong folks. I have NO problem with USPS 99% of the time. They are the most efficient post office in the world. I would hate to rely on the postal services elsewhere in the world. As I said, I have never had an issue quite like this with USPS. Now, UPS on the other hand...their color is brown for a reason.

It FINALLY got here today. Dave had to go to his PO and the postmaster there took care of getting it on the right track.
Total shout out to Daves Collectible Coins! Great customer service!
