I'm going to start checking to see how different dies these are from. Several examples on the PCGS web site: But most for far on there are one die that I've match up to so far: So I'm looking for more of the floating roof and missing FG on the reverses to see how many dies they have graded. I did see a circulated one graded in the Brown section. It was graded as normal. It had the missing roof and FG. It was probably submitted after they stopped slabbing these. So not mentioned as a FS-901 variety, but as a normal coin; the value of the graded example was $1. Worth far less than what the grading fees cost them. https://www.PCGS.com/cert/33884818 There is another one that is graded as the FS-901 that is AU-58 with a value of $55 dollars. on the same area: https://www.PCGS.com/cert/26025500 It must have been graded before the jumped away from grading/slabbing these any longer. For some reason, people like to make youtube videos about it and hype it up as an error, but as other people have pointed out it's ridiculously common on cents from that year, and is just a result of overpolishing, which typically carries no premium unless it's very severe. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/27/2020 8:03 pm Die clashes leave marks on the dies, that is struck into coins. When the dies are polished, this removes field thickness on the dies. This eventually happens several of times on areas that have the stronger parts of clashes. Eventually the sub devices get removed from the dies. Thus the areas missing the lines of the roof and the initials. Eventually even the statue is affected: Depending how much isolated polishing is used on the die. Some area will lose more detail from this process.
