I found this penny in change at work. I wanted to know if it was minted this way or has it been tampered with? On the front you can't see the date and on the back you can't see any letter in America except the A. Is it rare or just worth 1 cent. Either way I like it and added it to my collection. Incredible find! That's a major die break, commonly referred to as a Cud. I believe it to be CU-1c-ND-23(19XX), which Is listed here (after scrolling down a bit): http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-ce...uds-no-date/And a quick and helpful tip: One should avoid holding coins on their faces as the oils from our hands can be harmful to the coin. It is better to hold it from the edges or with gloves. Again, a great find! -CH27

to the CCF! Wow! Great error coin! It's a major Die Break or Cud. Don't "clean" the coin with anything and don't handle the coin any more than you have to and put in a flip to protect it.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Yeah I found something good! Thank you both so much for the info and link. I find coins fascinating and I'm always looking through the change at work. I really like money from different countries too. I don't have much yet but I really enjoy collecting it and looking at it. :)
And I didn't know that about the oils from my hands, I'll definitely wear gloves.

First off... to CCF! INCREDIBLE find! That's a nice piece $$ wise, not sure if it would yield as much being it's dateless compared to having a date with a Cud of that size, but, nonetheless, still incredible!

The weakness on the opposite side if a confirmation that the Cud is real. Nice find.
