Unsure of why you would even show a POC like this.

Poor Lincoln. It's a shame to see coins mangled this bad, especially ones with varieties .

I think it is always nice to show a coin that you find that is a variety. Regardless of condition. We collect coins.

Your collection, your choice. It is, after all, still a variety.

Still a great find, regardless of condition. I would keep it, until a better example comes around.

If at a ballgame and sitting in the outfield and the opposing team hits a homerun, the crowd yells, "Throw it back, Throw it back...:

Gee whiz, I miss baseball. :(

Congratulations. No need to apologize for your first find. We've all been there when we finally find one. I still look at PL coins even though I know I will be kicking myself if it is a damaged variety.

This scenario is always on my mind and even dreamed, nightmare actually, about it before where I find a great variety (usually THE 55 DDO) only to see that it came from a parking lot and is mangled.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Hey, I'd 100% keep this. A Wide AM is a Wide AM, even if it's not in condition you'd be able to sell. Throw it in a flip and write when/how you found it, and it will be part of your collection of your own circulation finds. I'd rather have a beat up variety I found and identified in the wild than a pristine one that someone else found and I just bought on ebay.

Coinfrog's comment was needlessly harsh, imo. This is a great find, and definitely worth posting.

. It is ugly but good eye. Lol I don't even bother looking at a coin in that condition. Maybe I will? you don't have to apologize. And with Petespockets55 about hopefully (not) finding say 55 DDO and somebody putting a state imprint on it.
