"wishful thinking" You need to wish for better! A 1938-D, even WITH a clear (or any!) mintmark, is basically worth melt in that grade. You're not talking about, say, a 1923-S SLQ... or even a 1921 P or D Walker. Look at what they sell for: https://www.ebay.com/sch/11968/i.ht...38-D&_sop=15
