I cant help but to think of not selling coins with the concerns of either getting contamination or contaminating coins due to selling and returns. Thank you

What are the risks?

If the seller has the virus and handles the coins putting them in the envelope, the virus may get onto the coins or the envelope - but it's not certain.

If the postal staff handling the package or the postman delivering it, has the virus, the virus may get onto the package - but it's not certain.

I think that if you wait for a week until after the package arrives, you'll have zero chance of getting the virus from the package or its contents.

As each day's post arrives, I put it onto the next available stair and then wash my hands.

When 8 stairs have post on them, I take the post from the top stair and take it downstairs to open it.

I return to the stairs and move each stair's post up one stair and then wash my hands.

I open the post that I took downstairs, deal with it, and then, because I'm ultra cautious, I wash my hands.

I haven't succumbed yet.
Rest in Peace

Wouldn't it be easier to just spray all your mail with 95% Alcohol? Or have a slot put in your door area where the mail can fall into and then cut a hole in the floor there so the mail falls into a basement. No basement? just call a contractor to come build you a basement. Or contact the post office and cancel all your mail. Or hire someone to take all your mail, put in a can and bury it for a few weeks. Than just go dig it up and see if you have anything worth all that.

Is handling the mail 7, 8, 9 times before opening it safer than just opening it?

Simple solution. Call a contractor and have them add a set of stairs.

Thanks folks for all your responses please be respectful lol I'm wondering why handle the package after a week is it because the virus dies out after a week? Also I'm just thinking of wearing gloves and using a box specific for handling returns and another for purchases and setting them down on a specific platform or suface when inspecting them. This is so I can clean the platform after each use easily and not cross it with any other surfaces. The shiping box will be disgarded appropriately ofcourse. What do you think?

I can see your concern but I think this mail thing is getting way out of hand . I just wipe down my mail with Lysol disinfecting wipes . After I read my mail I wash my hands with soap and water .

Yep that works.

Unless your mail decides to sneeze on you.

Around here, we are using latex gloves a bit. I open mail with gloves on and dispose of the envelope. Since postal service usually takes a few days, odds are no live virus inside (as for the outside, postal workers are getting infected, of course. At least 19 have died, at least 1,000 are positive or presumed positive, and 5,000 have self-quarantined.). When done, wash.

BTW, if you are worried about your mail, but not your groceries, you're misplacing your anxiety.

If you are in an especially high risk group, or are prone to anxiety STOP BUYING COINS, AND IT WONT BE A PROBLEM!

Open your mail in one spot, wipe that area down when you are done, then wash your hands.

Overall, I think if you wash your hands often you should be fine.

For what it is worth, my mail carrier has been wearing a mask and gloves for the last two weeks. I caught the Amazon guy doing the same.
