Is this possibly a struck-though-Error? At first I only noticed in 6th column on reverse but afterwards noticed maybe the same issue on obverse.

It's struck through, but the fragments seen lean towards PMD to me. Very unusual.

@Wrenes, that one is interesting. I would keep it in a 2x2 for protection, but at your next opportunity, get an XRF scan of those two round bits to see if they are actually the same alloy. It wouldn't be conclusive that it is a perpendicular wire, but would be further evidence. I haven't seen this before so am interested to see what others think.

can't tell from the pics if the embedded object is the same diameter on both sides of the coin, but if it is that's an interesting coin

The fact that it appears on both sides of the coin makes me think PMD. Don't struck through coins usually only have one side affected?

if that object goes through the coin, it might have been in the planchet prior to the strike
