I have never seen an edge of a quarter quite like this. any premium? Image optimizer auto-cropped so the entire sides couldn't be uploaded. Weight 5.6g Also there appears to be korean type symbols on the obverse yet english lettering on the reverse after America. any ideas?

A well-circulated coin--complete with dings/hits on the reeded edge and some environmentally-caused crud.

Yep damage. I agree with John. Ive had one that was much deeper but the same issue. It was in something that can eat the copper faster than the zinc

PSD (Post Strike Damage) definitely. Not an error coin.

So what you are saying is that the copper on the side of the rims have been ate away giving it this railroad track appearance, correct?

What do you mean be "railroad track" appearance, Davere? All quarters have reeding on the edges, and all reeding could be said to look like a railroad track. What are you seeing that you think looks different?

If you take a sledge to your vehicle, does it make it worth more money?

Damage reduces a coin to face value.

If by that you mean the copper does not extend out as far as the clad layers, YES. When you see one that has bee soaked a long time the copper receeds far enough the edge starts to look like an oreo cookie (just not the same colors).

One thing to remember is the reeds are formed by the metal pressing against the collar, so for them to have formed on the copper center, at one time it MUST have extended out as far as the clad layers do. (And when you see one of the "oreo cookie" coins you will see that because the acid attacks the whole surface evenly the copper center of the oreo will still show the reeding.)
