I have 1913 Barber dime that I have not seen before.
Need-Help-Identifying-A-1913-Barber-Dime

It appears that the area around the head has been punched out, leaving a silhouette. Also, when you flip the dime from right to left, the writing is upside down.

Can anyone offer ideas of what this is? Is there a value for such an item? Thanks in advance for any help

It's a damaged coin. PSD (Post Strike Damage). The metal has been cut out somehow. Only worth Silver melt value now. Still a keeper because of melt value.

It's a form of Hobo coin. It's someone's imagination and creation of art work. It's also damaged. People do collect these types of coins.

Someone has deliberately and skillfully cut out the open fields on this coin for some unknown reason.

The orientation is correct. Flipped straight backwards or forwards the other side should be right side up.
