I have an idea that this isn't an error but man made. What do you all think? Sorry the pics aren't great, stuck at the hospital with my mom for the past week and don't have anything to work with!

From the pics, looks like something is on the coin. Maybe glue

There's nothing on it. I thought maybe it had been filed or something but it doesn't show any signs of that. It's pretty smooth to the touch and it runs together smoothly with the raised portion of the coin.

So that rounded area in front of Jefferson's face is completely smooth and not raised on any way?

Yes the area in front of Jeffersons face is completely smooth. The only part that is raised is where the smooth part of it goes in to the partial design that appears on the coin.

Where the design itself does appear is raised.

Despite the lack of damage on the rev, my vote is for damage rather than a mint error.

Interesting thread and coin. The weight should give us an answer.

Looks hammered to me. If so the coin is probably bent a bit. Spender.

The coin isn't bent and it isn't glue. The weight is 4.9g. I'm still thinking PMD as well but wanted to see what others thought.
