I thought this was an interesting auction.
ANACS authenticated this as a 1916, and it sold for $1,136 as a Fair 2 grade.

The 1916 SLQ is one of those rare coins that can be identified without having a visible date.

Amazingly, they still turn up ***occasionally*** in dealer junk boxes.

That's about the going rate for dateless 1916 Standing Liberty quarters. Has been for a few years now.

There's certain die diagnostics to tell for 16s. Can't remember off the top of my head. But yup there out there

I hunt for these all the time. They are quite valuable in any condition. Unfortunate I've only found a dateless 1917 type one.

There used to be a guy that posted on the forum a bunch of years ago (2009 or so) that found 2 or 3 dateless 1916 SLQ in lots he bought on ebay. I'm pretty sure he was having them slabbed by ANACS. Seeing this coin made me wonder if it was one of those.
