Thinking about picking up some rolls to treasure hunt. What are people lining these days? I was leaning towards loonies but I'm open to anything if someone thinks there is something of better 'value' to be looking through. Thanks in advance friends!

If you can get your hands on some small cents those are always good to look through, I get bored with the loonies most of the time and most of my good finds have been found while searching pennies, nickels and quarters. Never had much luck with dimes and loonies.

Although I've found some decent strike throughs on toonies, also silver or nickel dollars tend to have some unique errors. Also 50 cent pieces if you can get your hands on some, But most banks wont have any idea what a "50 cent piece" is, I've had tellers look at me like I just asked how to get to the moon when requesting 50 cent pieces.

Since small cents intended for circulation ended in 2012. I think that would be a good venture. It is do-able but you might have to buy some which are not horribly expensive at all. A couple key dates. 1925 being the main one and affordable.
I made a set. It was fun.

5 Cents (nickels) are fun too, same situation but they still are making them and you have to keep up with it every year.

Banks are not supposed to give out 1 cent coins, but some dealers have buckets of them and will let them go for little over face value. They would certainly have checked for George V cents but maybe not a lot more.

theres a few factors to take into consideration, It all depends on what it was struck through, the severity and what a collector is willing to pay for it. I had a 2018 that sold on ebay for $2.50.

I would assume bigger strike through would bring a better sale, but I don't really collect strike throughs, I'm more of a doubled die collector so I sold the toonie just to see how much it would go for, turned out to not be a whole lot but I'm sure the collector who bought it enjoys it and thats good enough for me.
