That's a good-looking commemorative!

But be careful with Littleton - those monthly shipments creep up on you pretty quickly and sending them back requires a trip to the post office and postage.

@FuryCoins: Very nice! It looks like you have one of the half dollars struck at the Denver Mint. The coin is just one of two half dollars from the modern US commemorative series to be struck in 0.900 fine silver; the other is the 1993 James Madison/Bill of Rights coin.

I have long been a fan of Elizabeth Jones (the former chief engraver of the US Mint); her equestrian portrait of Washington on the obverse is fantastic IMO.

The original issue price for the coin (after the pre-issue discount price of $8.50) was $10.00. The proof version sold for $12.50 ($10.50 pre-issue).

I hope you enjoy having the coin in your collection!

My favorite EJ renditions are the 86 Statue and 88 Olympic $5 obverses. Just wonderful and yet to be outdone.

I think this 1982 commemorative Washington half and the 1992 Columbus commemorative half are the two best looking modern commemoratives.
