Some unfortunate spotting on the reverse. Still attractive I think.

Looks like a "sneeze" coin.
Need a better focus on the reverse to grade.
But I think at a TPG you'd end up with a DETAILS coin.
At that point grade isn't that important.

This coin is why any dealer who touches a coin's surface or doesn't get "say it, don't spray it" (sage advice indeed in coronatimes) should be drawn and quartered.

Is there some threshold TPG's apply? I've seen plenty of slabbed coins with carbon spots and prints but admittedly I'm not too familiar with what will body bag a penny. I had thought only PVC or active corrosion would yield a details grade for environmental issues.

So for discussion here's a 63 in a slab. It has noticeable spotting and an apparent fingerprint on the obverse. I think my example here is as or more attractive, so what is setting my coin back v this example?

I'll note this one looks way better in hand than in the magnified photos. Spots very evident at 10x but challenging to see with the naked eye.

OK, so it grades 63RD straight. Value maybe $5? Thinking about the grading fees on that 1941 - wot?

Enlarged photos certainly magnify the blemishes. I'd say MS-63RD, but the toning spots detract from eye appeal.

I probably overpaid a bit for this one but it looked nice in the case. About $10. Support your local coin dealers!
